This program reviews the details that are associated with keeping this often used “extra space” in the home dry and how to address the client when encountering a less than perfect basement.
- The Truth About Arc Fault Interrupters - $48.00
  The Truth about Arc Fault Circuit Interrupters: (3 Hours) Arc fault circuit interrupters are yet another electrical safety device found in the home. This program will go into detail about the functionality of these devices, .the purpose of AFCI and learning how to identify conditions that require these proven safety devices. Time is spent on examining home wiring conditions that could result in fires when problems occur and how to incorporate AFCI into the existing housing stock.

  Basic Electricity for the Home: (3 Hours) One can never do without a refresher on electrical basics. Developed for both the new and experienced inspectors. This class will cover a variety of conditions to every electrical scenario you may encounter in a residential home inspection. If you’re looking for a class that will provide you a confident understanding of what you’ll be seeing in both modern and older systems but in a concise format. This class is for you.

  Roof Designs and Their Ability to Control Moisture Intrusion: (3 Hours) Water is always a concern of homeowners and the roof is often the first line of defense against unwanted moisture. This program looks at different roof designs, the systems utilized in conjunction with each and how their applications work to keep the water out. Reviewing these details will give the inspector a much greater ability in not only understanding the mechanics of water intrusion and vapor transmission but also how to identify and explain these to the client.
- Avoiding Moisture Accumulation in Walls - $48.00
  Avoiding Moisture Accumulation in Walls: (3 Hours) A well built home includes a number of construction methods. A well built wall system includes many of the typical applications that you may encounter in other parts of the home as well. This program will discuss the wall system by examining a variety of exteriors and their associated details of construction. We will work to identify the common construction methods associated with each as well as how each helps to prevent damaging moisture issues.
- NEHA Radon Exam - $125.00
  NYSHIC is proud to offer the NEHA radon measurement exam. This is a procotored exam that is able to be administered directly following the last day of the course. You have 2 hours to complete this exam. Your results will be sent to you as well as posted on NEHA website using your registration number as reference (no names are placed in the exam site).
